Direct Combination reaction or Synthesis: 

The reaction in which two or more substances combine to form one compound.

A + B --> C

Examples:

1.      H₂O     +          CO₂      -->       H₂CO₃ 

                                               

2.      2Mg     +          O₂        -->       2MgO

3.      2H₂      +          O₂        -->        2H₂O  

                                   

4.      H₂        +          Cl₂       -->       2HCl   

                                   

5.      K₂O     +          H₂O    -->       2KOH
