CHEMICAL BONDING -3

Name/Give a term/State the following.
1.         The formation of ions from a molecule.
2.         The separation of oppositely charged ions when dissolved in water.
3.         A sublimable compound which possesses all three types of bonds.
4.         The atom bearing two lone pairs of electrons in water molecule.
5.         The pair of electrons present in the valence shell and does not take part in  chemical bonding.
6.         A compound containing one carbon atom having 4 single covalent bonds with four atoms of an electropositive element.
7.         A covalent compound in which the shared pair of electrons are unequally distributed between the atoms.
8.         The number of electron pairs which an atom shares with one or more atoms to attain stable electronic configuration.
9.         Elements with unstable electronic configuration lose or gain or share electrons to attain stable electronic configuration.
10.     Each atom of this element contributes one electron and shares one pair of electrons to achieve duplet configuration.
11.     The number of electron pairs shared between the Nitrogen atoms in a Nitrogen molecule.
12.     The type compounds which contain only ions.
13.     The nature of compounds which contain electrically neutral particles.
14.     The number of electron pairs shared between Oxygen atoms in molecule of Oxygen.
15.     The number of electrons transferred during the formation of CaO.

16.     The weak intermolecular force of attraction existing in covalent compounds.
