ICSE CHEMISTRY - Chemical test for Hydrogen chloride gas
ICSE CHEMISTRY - PRACTICAL CHEMISTRY
Test for HCl gas :
Concentrated Sulphuric acid is added to Sodium chloride then heated the mixture. It produces effervescence of a colourless with pungent odour. This produced gas is Hydrogen chloride
Take a glass rod and dip it inside the Ammonium hydroxide solution. Now the glass rod is exposed to Hydrogen chloride gas. It gives dense white fumes of Ammonium chloride.
