ICSE CHEMISTRY CLASS 10 - PRACTICE PAPER SULPHURIC ACID -2

SULPHURIC ACID - 2
Name the following.
1.      The catalyst used in Contact process.
2.      The catalyst used for the conversion of Sulphur dioxide to Sulphur trioxide.
3.      Sulphur trioxide is the anhydride of this acid.
4.      This compound smells of rotten egg.
5.      A strong acid which is an oxidizing agent and non volatile.
6.      The process used for the large scale preparation of Sulphuric acid.
7.      A white precipitate formed when this salt solution is added to dil. Sulphuric acid.
8.      Property of conc. Sulphuric acid which makes it displace Hydrogen chloride from Sodium chloride.
9.      The gas evolved when Sulphur is oxidized using conc. Sulphuric acid.
10.  The gas which is evolved when dil. Sulphuric acid is added a metal sulphide and can be oxidized to Sulphur.
11.  The property of conc. Sulphuric acid which makes it removes the water molecules from sugar crystals.
12.  A crystalline blue salt which turns to white when treated with conc. Sulphuric acid.
13.  A dilute mineral acid which gives a white precipitate with BaCl2 solution.
14.  The acid which is used in the preparation of a non volatile acid.
15.  The acid which produces Char coal from Sugar crystals.
16.  The acid which on treating with Lead nitrate solution produces a white precipitate which dissolves on heating.
17.  The acid which on mixing with water gives Sulphuric acid.
18.  The acid which is formed when SO3 is dissolved in water.
19.  The solid product formed when H2S reacts with an oxidizing agent.

State your observations
1.      Conc. Sulphuric acid is added to penta hydrated Copper sulphate.
2.      Sugar crystals are added to conc. Sulphuric acid.
3.      Dil. Sulphuric acid added to Lead nitrate solution.
4.      The gas released when Sodium chloride is heated with conc. Sulphuric acid, is passed into a gas jar containing Ammonia gas.

5.      Dil. Sulphuric acid is added to a metal sulphide.
