ICSE CLASS 10 CHEMISTRY
GIVE REASONS - ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
1. Alkenes are more reactive than alkanes.Ans: Alkenes are unsaturated hydrocarbons in which the Carbon atoms are not satisfied with four bonds. Availability of electrons is more. Alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons where all Carbon atoms are satisfied with four bonds.
2. Alkenes undergo addition reactions but alkanes do not.
Ans: Alkenes are unsaturated hydrocarbons in which the Carbon atoms are not satisfied with four bonds. Alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons where all Carbon atoms are satisfied with four bonds.
3. Hydrocarbons are excellent fuels.
Ans: Hydrocarbons are highly combustible substances and have high calorific values.
4. Pure Acetic acid is called glacial acetic acid.
Ans: Pure Acetic acid on cooling solidifies and forms Ice like solid.
5. Alkenes decolourize Bromine water but alkanes do not.
Ans: Alkene are unsaturated hydrocarbons with double bond between Carbon atoms but Alkanes are saturated hydrocarbons.
7 comments:
1) due to presence of double bond alkene is more reactive than alkane
2) same as 1st
3) bcoz they undergo complete combustion and their calorific value is high
4) pure acetic acid is called glacial acetic acid coz when it is pure it freezes easily amd exits like glacier
5) bcoz alkene show addition reaction and hence bromine upon addition declourizes
Thank u brother...the website founder, puts the questions but no answers which pisses me off...u put like that for all questions....if u dont, see what i'll do....
Yaheen Ali...bahut shukriya...aap dhiya gaya questions ko padne ke baadh mujhe bahut accha laga...Allah aapka bala kare...allah u akbar...By the way aapka shaadhi hua kya??
Sir i want organic chemistry notes

What is the answer for this?
Regular emission tests must be done for vehicles
Emission test is to measure the level of pollutants in the exhaust released by the automobiles
